Story & Atmosphere
Las Campanas is a true gem nestled in the heart of Valladolid, Yucatán, just steps away from the central plaza and the iconic downtown cathedral. This restaurant artfully brings authentic Mexican flavors to the table, serving dishes that are as rich in tradition as they are in taste. From the moment you step inside, you’re greeted with warm hospitality—something guests like Manoj Kumar highlight with praise for the attentive service led by Vidal.
The menu at Las Campanas strikes a balance between classic Mexican offerings and approachable favorites like burgers and club sandwiches, ensuring there’s something for every palate. Yet, the true stars here are the regional dishes: flautas, succulent meat tacos, and vibrant salsas that burst with freshness. The portions impress—large and satisfying, as noted by Teakeyman—making this spot a great choice for breakfast, lunch, and dinner alike.
What stands out is not just the flavor but the presentation. The dishes arrive well-crafted and visually inviting, a detail that K G found delightful. Pairing meals with refreshing beverages like rich horchata or the generous two-liter strawberry lemonade adds to the experience, keeping the atmosphere lively and convivial for groups and families.
While the bustling streets around can introduce passing fumes, the view of the historic church from select windows and the welcoming ambiance interior more than compensate, creating a space where locals and tourists come together. Prices remain fair and accessible, offering excellent value without compromising quality—something Maria Marshall and Jourdain W both commend.
Ultimately, dining at Las Campanas feels like a genuine taste of Yucatán’s culinary soul, presented with professionalism and heart. Whether you crave hearty Mexican classics, a refreshing drink, or simply a place to relax and enjoy the local vibe, Las Campanas delivers—a destination I wholeheartedly recommend returning to time and again.
“ Loved the food. Tasty and well presented. The strawberry lemanado was 2 liters and was.more than enough for the whole group. The appetizer which had taco and meat was soo good. ”
“ Recommend by our hotel owner - restaurant directly next to the main plaza with mainly Mexican food. There also offering burger & club sandwich. You will get nachos as a starter. We ordered flautas and the burger. Both were good - burger was nothing special. Horchata tastes amazing! Prices are fair :) Service was nice, but speaks mainly Spanish. ”
“ This restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable host by vidal, delicious dishes, beautiful presentation, wide alcohol list and wonderful Mexican authentic food. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again. ”
“ Love this restaurant. We had lunch and we came back for dinner. Is located in one of the corners near the central park and the church. The folks there are very professional and kind. We were three and with lemonade drinks we paid like $30 US for great food. The taste was amazing and we had a good time. Definitely recommended for tourists, families and even to drink coffee. ”
“ Nice enough restaurant. Prices reflect the portion size but it is cheaper than other places. Does have some very nice red wine though! It’s a shame that the streets outside are so busy with traffic and emissions laws are so lax. Every so often you get very strong smells of fuel and fumes come through the windows. Certain windows do have a view of the church but not all of them. Most seating does not. The food tasted good but the ‘stuffed’ items were not what I would described as stuffed. Classic colonist building with high vaulted ceilings to keep it cool during the heat. The menu is in Spanish only. ”
